My life

SereneMy journey is one of incredible change through pain. As Paul wrote, “By the grace of God, I am what I am” (1 Cor. 15:10). I had a great deal to deal with, and I confess it took many years of searching, trial and brokenness to find consistent peace and victory in God. I love what God has done with my life, a major sinner saved through faith in Christ, with the task to tell others what Jesus can do for them, if they will let Him. I also agree totally with the Apostle Paul that having no righteousness of my own is my reality: “I didn’t want some petty, inferior brand of righteousness that comes from keeping a list of rules when I could get the robust kind that comes from trusting Christ—God’s righteousness” (Phil 3:9) The Message. We all grow in God through His incomparable Word, the Bible, as well as illumination that comes by the Spirit of Truth, God’s Holy Spirit, but also through experential knowledge gained by walking in the dusty and well-worn shoes of life.

Personal life and current situation…

Joe says his early years were fun growing up in Chickasaw, AL, near Mobile, “where I had a solid family and wonderful friends.” After a stint in the USAF, Joe graduated from the University of Alabama with BA and MA degrees and pursued a career in public relations. “Writing came natural for me, having received those genes via my ancestors.” Although he was raised in a religious environment, Joe says, “It wasn’t until my senior year in college that I began to understand the amazing principles of God’s Word and their impact on my life.” Today, Joe, although “retired,” maintains a very active life He writes a blog,href=”http://thebloginthefog.com”>http://thebloginthefog.com, and is writing two more books. He has two sons, Nicholas and Noah, “about whom I’m very proud,” Joe says.

  1. Can you share about the pain, that brought about the change? Probably most of us can relate. If we live long enough, we have “baggage” that we need to unload! Can you help? Ginger

  2. Joe,
I hope all is well in your world. Could you please update your profile to delete your position at TM as Dean.
Thanks in advance and I wish you the best.
